About Fertility Malaysia

Malaysia, like many countries around the world, are experiencing fertility rate decreased, and increased infertility. This is not a new problem. As early as 2006, it has been highlighted in the press and my views have been sought. The situation remains the same, if not worse, given that our country is quite low given compared with developed countries in terms of people’s awareness of infertility, fertility and problems associated with miscarriage. Fertility Malaysia was established to provide scientific information related to the current rapidly evolving field. Our aim is to review the latest research studies and articles related to infertility and concepts, and present in a reader-friendly format. We hope the information here will help your fertility and also keeps you up to date.

Thank for your questions. As far as I know, there is no proper infertility statistics in Malaysia. National statistics shows fertility rate but not exactly quoting infertility rate. I’ve seen a presentation by a collegue who stated that infertility rate is about 15% in Malaysia.
As for Myo-inositol, yes I have read about its possible positive effect in improving egg quality in PCOS. However, the required dosage is high and I have not found supplements containing that high dosage in Malaysia.

    Hi Dr. Agilan,

What is the statistics of infertile couple in Malaysia? And I read from the internet that Myo-inositol is a beneficial supplement for infertile female or PCOS female undergoing IVF, is that true?
